Mrs Bhuvana Kannan is a Montessori trained early years educator. She had started her own Montessori House of Children in the year 2004 called Abhyasa Montessori. Bhuvana later joined Chettinad Harishree Vidyalayam as the head of the Junior Campus.
Creating a unique Montessori based curriculum, enhancement of language through stories, setting up an immersive space for learning were some of her responsibilities. The years that she spent there were the most awe inspiring and humbling.
Creating a space where children were happy, wanting to come to school each and every day with a smile on their faces was one of the achievements that still fill her with gratitude. Bhuvana also took on the additional responsibility of the Primary Head in the same school for a year.
She then went on to join an Edu tech company called Chrysalis as an Early Years Consultant and worked with them for three years. She has also worked as an early year’s consultant in schools like Vedanta Academy.
Bhuvana wants children to have a completely immersive experience with books and has always dreamed of creating a space where children dive into the world of stories. What better way than to use story telling as a methodology and start the next phase of her journey.
Jayashree has over 10 years of experience in working with the early childhood and elementary age group children.
Worked as a Montessori teacher in Chettinad Harishree Vidyalayam, 2013. Prior to entering the education field, as an Engineering graduate, she has worked in the IT industry, in Wipro and Satyam.
She has profound knowledge in handling and teaching children in the age group of 3 years to 12 years. She has learned and implemented the Montessori ways of teaching the children from Pre-Primary to Grade 1 level at CHSV and training elementary age group children in the Beehive Montessori learning space.
She has completed IMTC elementary Montessori training program, special education and Waldrof training for early childhood education and is implementing the best practices from her learnings to help the children by mapping the ICSE & CBSE primary and elementary curriculum to the Montessori methods for the past four years. This is helping the children to have practical exposure to the subjects that are handled in their school curriculum.
